Recipes

I have to confess that until I move out of my house to study college (a year before I got married), I never cooked. Now that I am married, incredible as it may seem, I have an excellent seasoning, but I still have a hard time being resistant to avoiding the temptation to eat out and not cook. Therefore, as a way to lessen those desires to eat away from home (and to spend unnecessary money), I have added this section of Recipes.

Sometimes it's difficult, I know. Sometimes it is exhausting to have to plan, spend hours preparing and, above all that, have to clean. Despite that exhausting feeling, there is nothing more satisfying than listening to your spouse or children say, "This tastes delicious. Thank you!" or "This is my new favorite dish!". In addition, all that time that is required to plan and prepare delicious dishes at home, can be delegated or divided, and this way you can even enjoy family time. Let me explain, one day a week get your family together and plan together what it is they want to eat during the week. Once you have a weekly menu, make a list of the ingredients you will need to cook. When you have made the shopping list, have an date with your spouse or one of your children, and go to the supermarket together and spend quality time. Then, to cook, plan ahead what you have to do for each dish; for some dishes you could leave everything prepared the night before, so you will not have to feel overwhelmed an hour before serving the food. I know that after your family has enjoyed a delicious dish made with love and dedication, and you have received praises of how excellent you are in the kitchen, your husband and/or children will be happy to clean the kitchen after seeing the great work that you did. In case this doesn't happen, do not feel guilty of delegating responsibility to clean because, after all, you have just fed them.

What to expect from this section?

I want us to work together; I want to help you, and at the same time help myself, t find motivation and passion for cooking at home. In this section I will be sharing my favorite recipes and tips on how to maintain a healthy eating routine at home and not waste money or food. You will soon see that your family will look forward to family meals and the comfort of your home.

If you have any questions, suggestions or just want to share some of your favorite recipes, please do not hesitate to contact me. Bon Appetite!
